🎤 Chris Brown Pleads Not Guilty to London Nightclub Assault Charge

⚖️ Courtroom drama follows stage lights for the R&B star

Just hours after lighting up the stage in Cardiff, Chris Brown faced a far more serious spotlight — in a London courtroom.

The 36-year-old US singer pleaded not guilty on Friday to charges related to an alleged bottle attack at a London nightclub two years ago that left a music producer injured.

🚨 What are the charges?

Brown is accused of:

  • Attempting to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH)

  • Assault occasioning actual bodily harm

  • Possession of an offensive weapon — a tequila bottle.

Prosecutors say the incident was "unprovoked", and targeted Abraham Diaw, a music producer. Brown allegedly used the bottle as a weapon during the altercation.

🧑‍⚖️ Courtroom details

At Southwark Crown Court, Brown stood before Judge Baumgartner, wearing a sharp ocean-blue suit and black-rimmed glasses.

“Not guilty, ma’am,” Brown said, after confirming his identity and hearing the GBH charge.

The other two charges were added ahead of the hearing, but the arraignment on those counts was postponed. Brown will return to plead to those charges on July 11, with a full trial set for October 26, 2026.

👀 Public & fan reaction

Fans showed up. Supporters waited outside the court, while a crowd filled the courtroom itself.

The singer — never one to shy away from attention — smiled and winked at someone in the public gallery while waiting for the judge.

🎤 Who else is involved?

Omololu Akinlolu, aka HoodyBaby — Brown’s longtime collaborator and co-defendant — also pleaded not guilty to attempted GBH.

📌 The background

The case stems from an incident at a London nightclub in 2023. Details remain limited, but prosecutors suggest a heated confrontation ended in a bottle being used as a weapon. The severity of the charges has caught attention across both the music and legal world.
