🇺🇸 Elon Musk Launches ‘America Party’ Amid Public Feud With Trump

Tech billionaire Elon Musk has announced the launch of a new political movement — the America Party — promising to challenge the dominance of the Republican and Democratic parties in the United States. The move comes just weeks after a dramatic and very public fallout between Musk and former ally President Donald Trump.

🗳️ Musk vs. Trump: From Allies to Rivals

Once one of Trump’s biggest supporters — even dancing at his rallies and donating $250 million to his campaign — Musk is now positioning himself as an outsider reformer. He left his role as head of Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) in May, criticizing the president's sweeping tax and spending bill, which added more than $3 trillion to the U.S. deficit.

Musk wrote on X (formerly Twitter):

“By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it! When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy.”

Despite his announcement, no official registration has yet been filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC).

⚠️ What Is the America Party?

Musk’s new initiative is still vague on details:

  • No formal leadership named (Musk himself cannot run for president, as he was born outside the U.S.).

  • No clear platform or electoral strategy outlined.

  • Unclear if the party will field candidates for the 2026 midterms or the 2028 presidential election.

Still, Musk’s declaration taps into growing disillusionment with traditional politics. In the same post, he referenced a viral poll where X users overwhelmingly supported the idea of a new party.

💰 Subsidies, Tesla & Doge Threats

Trump has since threatened to investigate Musk’s businesses, suggesting Doge — the agency Musk used to lead — should now scrutinize subsidies for Tesla, SpaceX, and Starlink.

"Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "Without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop."

In response, Musk retorted:

“I am literally saying CUT IT ALL. Now.”

He also suggested forming a third-party movement to challenge both major U.S. parties, hinting he may fund campaigns against lawmakers who backed Trump’s controversial “big, beautiful bill.”

🌍 Global Implications

Musk’s businesses — Tesla, SpaceX, and Starlink — have global contracts and influence, including partnerships with U.S. defense, European governments, and space exploration agencies.

His political ambitions, though limited by citizenship, could reshape the tech-policy landscape, especially in areas like:

  • Electric vehicle subsidies

  • Federal budget transparency

  • Defense-tech partnerships
