✈️ RwandAir Offers Free Rebooking After Gulf Airspace Closures
RwandAir has issued a complimentary rebooking waiver for passengers affected by flight cancellations to and from Doha and Dubai on June 23 and 24, 2025, due to Middle East airspace closures triggered by escalating regional conflict.
🔁 Free Change for Affected Travelers
The waiver, coded “WBRIW1DFSME”, allows one free rebooking for passengers who were booked on the disrupted flights. Travelers now have the option to reschedule their trips anytime until September 30, 2025, without incurring additional change fees.
“We’re pleased to offer this complimentary rebooking waiver to all affected passengers,” RwandAir announced, highlighting their customer-first commitment during a time of disruption.
Affected customers are encouraged to contact RwandAir's reservations team at 📧 reservations@rwandair.com or reach out to their respective travel agents for immediate assistance.
🚫 What Flights Were Cancelled?
The cancellations impacted the following flights:
-
WB300 and WB303 (Kigali – Doha – Kigali)
-
All RwandAir services to and from Dubai
The decision was made after Qatar and the UAE closed their airspace, citing serious regional military threats.
🚨 Background: Rising Tensions in the Gulf
The closures followed a significant military escalation in the Persian Gulf, as Qatar’s air defense systems intercepted multiple Iranian missiles over Doha. These missiles were reportedly launched by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in retaliation for alleged U.S. attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities.
Though Qatar reported no casualties, the airspace lockdowns caused widespread flight cancellations and delays throughout the Gulf.
Fortunately, Qatar Airways and Dubai Airports have since resumed operations, offering some relief to travelers.
